Deb
MacDonnell is a communications professional with extensive experience in
Connecticut's financial services arena where she has managed corporate
internal and external communications, including media relations, strategy
and community relations. Deb's proven leadership in initiating
strategically focused projects and achieving successful results is an
asset to Sullivan & LeShane Public Relations.
Deb will draw upon her communications expertise to train clients in effective communication with the media, generate positive publicity for clients in a wide range of industries and develop strategic communications in crisis situations.
A former journalist who began her career as a reporter and editor with Shoreline Newspapers, Deb most recently was Manager of External Communications at People's Bank, a Connecticut-based diversified financial services company with more than 150 branches throughout the state. At People's, Deb worked closely with senior management to develop and implement key messages and strategic communications plans for significant initiatives.
Deb has trained, coached and supported senior corporate officers as effective spokespersons and worked to positively position key business issues as well as frame sensitive matters for the Connecticut and financial media. She has a broad base of media contacts and is a seasoned media relations expert.
In addition to her expertise in media relations and strategic communications, Deb has been a key corporate investor relations resource, working with senior management to build long term shareholder value and proactively address shareholder issues. She has managed shareholder communications, including writing and producing annual reports; positioned financial news with national and local media and coordinated shareholder meetings..
Deb is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor's degree in journalism, and she completed the University of Connecticut's Center for Professional Development and School of Business Administration Investor Relations Certificate Program.
