Dennis
M. O'Brien brings a wealth of experience in legislative and labor
relations matters to Sullivan & LeShane.
Dennis offers a "can do" attitude and commitment - traits he developed as a decorated combat veteran in the United State Marine Corps and as a former police officer for the City of Hartford.
As a tireless crusader for his clients' interests, Dennis has traveled to our nation's capitol to lobby Connecticut's Congressional delegation, and has aided countless political campaigns in Connecticut for more than two decades.
Dennis also brings extensive experience as the lead negotiator of labor relations issues before municipal and state agencies. Most recently, he served as director of political affairs and lobbyist, representing more than 6,000 state and municipal law enforcement officers. Recognized as an established coalition and consensus builder, Dennis has received bipartisan recognition for his political and legislative accomplishments.
Utilizing his experience and expertise in both labor relations and law enforcement, Dennis currently sits as a member on the American Society for Industrial Security, and was previously a board member of the Connecticut Statewide Security Management Council.
Dennis handles Sullivan & LeShane's client issues referred to the Labor and Public Employees, Public Safety, General Law, Energy and Technology, Appropriations, Insurance, Select Committee on Workforce Development, Program Review and Investigations and Commerce committees.
Highly skilled in campaign organizing, grassroots mobilization, fundraising and political action campaigns, Dennis also spearheads Sullivan & LeShane's client political action and campaign fundraising activities. In the past, Dennis has coordinated the Speaker's Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and is also a member of the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States, Inc.
