Agency Corner a few weeks ago wrote about the controversy last fall related to EV regulation in the state. The question now is will communities in the state, knowing that “range anxiety” is real, be able to market tourists to come to their towns based on having EV infrastructure?
A report issued by Connecticut Town & City discusses this distinct possibility since sales have skyrocketed for new models. The New London Day in particular took things a step further by citing, “the city will not be adding the charging stations to just one location, but to several municipal buildings around town including City Hall and school district buildings.” The area which was dubbed, “the biggest pocket of such devices in the region” does raise a good point as to how to build economic development around places where EV drivers will need to recharge (plug your favorite coffee joke here).
