They mentioned my reputation of fairness and bipartisanship from my days with Governor Meskill, and that I would be included in policy discussions and other Senate activities BUT there were three conditions – 1) Your word is your bond; 2) What is shared and discussed behind closed doors, stays behind closed doors; and 3) I had the same obligations to respect and protect this wonderful process that had served the state so well as they did.
